Parent Workshops - Understand how your child is learning.

As a parent of a school age child, I have seen how some parents really want to help and support their child/children in their learning/education but do not have the knowledge of the skills and processes involved.

To help support parents and to give parents this knowledge, I have developed a range of workshops that will provide parents with the know how and language taught to our children in the classrooms, and that parents can continue to use at home.

These workshops will be interactive with real hands on activities. I intend to show parents the steps children are taught in their learning process using materials and language children use in the classroom.

Workshops will be available in both math and language areas.

Language workshops will cover the areas of spelling, grammar and phonics.

Math workshops will cover place value, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division (including number facts).

Workshops that are organised by parents within a school can be designed to support the particular school’s curriculum. I am happy to work in with principals and teachers on ensuring what parents are learning follows the school's curriculum. Workshops can also be catered toward areas the school feel necessary.

Each workshop will cater for a maximum of 25 parents to ensure a favourable learning environment. This size group will allow for each participant to have access to workshop materials.

Workshops will tend to last approx 3 hours with all materials and handouts supplied.
